World Cup of Hockey 2004
A big congratulations as Team Canada
defeated Finland in a very close and intense 3-2 final
in the 2004 World Cup of Hockey at Air Canada Centre,
Toronto.
Canada's Shane Doan scored the game winning
goal in the first minute of the third period to pull
off the victory. Finland battled back after being down
1-0 and 2-1, but were not able to come back a third
time. Canada's other goals came from Joe Sakic and Scott
Niedermayer. Finland received goals from Riku Hahl and
Tuomo Ruutu. Canada retains the best hockey team title
as they also won gold in the 2002 Winter Olympics at
Salt Lake City.
Canada finished the tournament going
unbeaten, in a perfect 5-0 record.
